read if you want. I don't care.
For all the high school seniors out there, college apps are due in a month for most of us. And if you're applying for early decision or early action, the deadlines are closer than you think. I've been looking through the Chapman University website to see what other students have been writing because I want to go into communications or public relations, maybe even journalism. I was reading this one piece from the Chapman Magazine called "You're Not From Around Here, Are You?" and while I was reading it, I realized how crazy California is to compared to other states. This author is from Colorado and she shares her dreams and hopes for when she came to California. She wanted to escape from her family and life in Colorado. She didn't want to be surrounded by the "fighting and booze and a microwaved TV dinner."
public education because they were not legally citizens of the United States. The government though since they were not citizens, they should not be allowed the same education as the students who were US citizens. The immigrants also used Doe to represent their side of the case because they were afraid that if they gave their real names, they would be sent back to their country for not being legal US citizens.
Even though Doe won in the Supreme Court case, something similar happened in Alabama. In Alabama, a law was passed stating that new students entering schools in Alabama would have their parents' and their immigration status checked and when that law was passed in 2011, there was a disturbing decrease in attendance for the Hispanic community because they were fleeing the state. They did not want to be sent back to their country. One of the biggest reasons for being in America is to receive a better education. This happened in 2011. I thought this country was getting better with providing equality for all people, but suddenly it feels like we're going backwards in time. Now even more immigrants are on the run and it's becoming more and more dangerous in the US. Well here's a little message for the president. You said you wanted to make America great again. All I see is America getting worse.
Thanks for reading this post. I know it's been awhile since my last post and I know that this was supposed to go up two weeks. If you want to read the article from the Chapman magazine, I shared the link down below. Anyway, I hope you liked it. Peace!
Discovering new foods are always one of our biggest weaknesses because food is life, for most of us. There is a new collaboration going on with Zero Degrees and the Travel Bottle. Right now, if you go over to any Zero Degree cafe, you can get selected drinks in a Travel Bottle. Honestly, it's so worth it.
Needless to say, we had a blast just getting the drinks and the drinks themselves were amazing. Everything was freshly made and the boba was the absolute best. It was made to perfection and I can't wait to go back. In total, it costs about $26 because the drinks were about $3-4 each, boba was $0.50, and as expected, the bottle itself was about $9. But it doesn't matter because I checked the prices for the travel bottles on their website and it's about $13 by itself, so my sister and I got the bottle and a free drink.
Anyway if anyone wants to check it out, I have the address and website listed down below. They are also going to be opening up another location in Norwalk very soon.
