read if you want. I don't care.
Today after going to academy, my family wanted to eat out but not at the same restaurants. We were tired of the same old same old, so we went to try something new. I went on Yelp and found the Pier 76 Fish Grill. It is a lovely seafood restaurant and it is quiet and a perfect hangout. It reminded me of Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. For all you seafood lovers, you should really check this place out. After that, I went to the library to return some books. On the way to the library, my mother changed the radio station to 105.1 Go Country! and we just blasted the country music from our tiny car with all the windows down and the cold wind blowing in our faces. It was so fun. Anyway, after my sister and I got dropped off at the library, we heard this loud clapping sound so we went to go check it out. It turns out, Club Kaibigan was practicing for a show. I don't know when it is (but I'll give you the details later), but you should go to watch it. Well, I hope your Saturday was great as well, and I'll talk to y'all later.
If you want to go check out what Pier 76 looks like, there are pictures of it in the gallery.

If you just want to look at the entries from previous winners:
At Whitney High School, there was a musical and it was the 100th production for the drama teacher, Mrs. Jodi Improta. The musical consisted of bits and pieces of her previous productions. There were bits from Grease, West Side Story, Chicago, and so many more. It was amazing to see all of the musicale in two and a half hours. The actors and actresses consisted of the Whitney High School alumni, staff, and students. It was truly brilliant. If I could, I would watch it again tonight.
Showtimes: 7:30 - 10:00 pm (Friday, January 22 & Saturday, January 23)
Location: Whitney High School in the MAC building
Doors open at 7 so if you want good seats, go early. If you go, I hope you enjoy the show because it is one that is too good to miss.
This week has gone by so slowly. I have been up for hours during the week; working on homework or projects, studying for tests, or just reading. I have been so occupied with all of the assignments due this week. Before the week of school had begun, I thought my head was going to explode from all of the assignments due in the span of one week. The teachers have decided to have less tests stacked all into one day so there's like a test every day in a different class. It helps some students, but not so much for others.
Good luck to everyone during COMPs next week!!!
HEY EVERYONE!!! So I've been listening to old Disney songs and the one that always gets me hyped is "We're all in this together" by the High School Musical cast. It just reminded me about how much more spirited our school has to be.
WILD CATS EVERYWHERE
Come on Whitney Wildcats! I know we can do it. Come out to the girls soccer spirit game on Crazy Tuesday! Most of the spirit points are simply from dressing up in school colors/apparel and that's not difficult. I understand there is a lot to study for and comps are coming up soon, but that doesn't mean everyone has to spend their high school years, walking around nose deep into a textbook, sleeping on any bench available, or doing homework during pep rallies or lunch. It's called HOMEwork for a reason.
You don't want to remember high school for all the studying and time spent into working. Make some memories at the events. Don't join clubs if you're not going to be active in them. Find something you will be dedicated to because you will have fun doing it, like band or a sport.
LET'S MAKE HIGH SCHOOL MEMORABLE!!!
Hey guys! So recently, there has been an application sent out to help set up and be part of the Fashion Show at Whitney High School. The application is on their blog and they are due January 31 if you want to be part of the team.
It is a charity fashion show so please please come out and support. The link to their blog will be down below:
On Sunday, I went to the temple super early to help set up but instead I went to read Les Miserables because I was not needed. Later I went to eat lunch but the soup I drank had peanuts in it. I had a minor allergic reaction and almost threw up. My mother took me and my sister home but since I felt better, we went to Target to buy fitness wear and food. After about an hour of shopping, we went home and started getting back into the regular routine since winter break has come to an end.
For the first wee back it went by pretty quickly. It was probably because I had something to look forward to. Every Tuesday and Thursday, I get to stay after school until 5 because I have MUN until 5. Sometimes the meetings end early, so I get to finish up my homework with my friends. This week was filled with Homecoming Serenades for the 6 Homecoming princesses at lunch. So I went to go watch them. Homecoming was on Friday so I had something big to look forward to at the end of the week. Unfortunately, only our jv girls basketball team won, but both of the varsity teams were close to winning. I only go to Homecoming because it is the one night all the basketball teams play against Oxford Academy. The crowd was so hyped and the energy in the gym was amazing. A lot of the alumni came out to support our teams and the gym was packed with Whitney students and parents. The gym was divided so one half was for all of the Whitney supporters, a quarter was left for the Whitney alumni, and the another quarter of the gym was for all the Oxford supporters. I am glad I went to the game. It was amazing.
Today, I thought I was going to be reading and staying home all day like I have been doing for the last two weeks, but instead, my family decided to go travel. I have not gone anywhere this winter break because my mom did not want to spend more money on places my sister and I would go to with our academy. My parents told me and my sister that we can decide to go to one place today, and we chose to go to explore Los Angeles.
We arrived in downtown LA at 1 in the afternoon, so we are in Thai Town. I have never had good Thai food, but today, I ate like there was no tomorrow. I forgot what te restaurant name was but their Chinese sausage fried rice was absolutely amazing. The Chinese sausage was not dry and it was just like eating a piece of heaven.
After eating lunch, we went to Hollywood Blvd. and walked along the stars. We parked near the Chinese Theater and walked from there. There were so many actors and actresses that I have heard of or watched before like The Simpsons and Bruce Lee. We walked around for about three hours just looking around at the stores. My sister and I both bought a mug with a spoon holder.
During lunch while we were waiting for our food, I was on Yelp and looking for some good coffee shops in LA, and I found Philz Coffee in Downtown LA. I told my dad and he said we could go on the way back home. On the way back, I reminded him that I wanted to go to Philz Coffee and we spent half an hour getting there. In the end, it was worth it because the coffee there was AMAZING! All te reviews on Yelp were accurate; the baristas were extremely nice and there was the most welcoming smell of coffee when I first opened the door. My mom got the sweet creamy mint mojito iced coffee and I got the sweet green tea. Unfortunately, there's only two Philz Coffee in Southern California: one in downtown LA and one in Santa Monica. There are about six more in Northern California, San Francisco to be more precise. We got home at around 8 and finally ate dinner. Today was a TUN of fun.
