Recently, I have been spending a lot of time on YouTube, discovering new music, watching vlogs, and just wasting time in general.
Disney Channel always has new emerging artists and so I stumbled across this new artist in the music world. She started out acting in the Disney Channel original movie Descendants and now she has joined the music world with her first song being "Love is the Name." Here is Sofia Carson's new song "Back to Beautiful."
It's about how the society has beat the image of the ideal man or woman into our heads and now we are so blinded by that view of beautiful. She wants to remind us that no matter what we look like, we are all beautiful and the "flaws" that we have are part of the beauty, not the other way around. We need to remember that society should not bend our views; we should be the ones believing in what we believe is right or, in this case, beautiful.
Here is the video for y'all to watch and listen to. I personally love this song. If you like it too, give this post a thumbs up. If not, comment down another song that I should listen to. I'm always open to exploring to new music.
Thanks for reading this week's blog. Come back next week for a new post. Peace out!
Recently, I have been dry on what to post about, so I thought, why not post one of my short stories for my creative writing class? So here's one that I wrote last semester. We had to find a news article, take the facts, and create a story behind the whole thing like we were the ones in the article. The article I found was about a high schooler at Mountain View High School in Utah who had stabbed five students in the neck, and here is my story.
It’s just another Monday night and I, as always, have homework.
I brought out my World History book to study the unit about the French Revolution. It got me thinking, what if the guillotine was brought back? It was so interesting that I had to give it a try. I don’t know why, but why not, right? And that is where the (at the time) imagination began.
As fatigue kicked in after the works of putting a guillotine together, I just drifted off what it would be like if there was a guillotine in society today.
As my alarm woke me up at 7:05 am, I got ready for another day at school. Get changed into my usual Mountain View High Sweater sweater and blue jeans, eat breakfast, and get ready to leave. As usual, my mom reminded me.
“Don’t forget anything.”
“I won’t Mom. Bye.”
Can’t forget this. I thought as I put the knife in my backpack, carefully wrapped in napkins. As normal, I walked to the bus stop down the street and took the bus to school. It’s currently 7:30 am and right on time, there’s Mr. Castro going to the office for his regular coffee run. Walking through the white doors into school on my regular route to my first class, PE was normal. Everything was normal, until I got to the locker room. Ever so casually, I took out the knife, revealing the blade as if I have done it a million times. As the other boys around me got dressed into their cardinal red, white, and gold PE clothes, I just stood there getting ready to attack my first victim. The first person that passed by was him. I subtly turned around and just stabbed him in the neck as if the blade of the guillotine was falling onto his neck.
Of course, I was just curious for what the outcome would be of this modern guillotine, but I just kept going until people started dialing 9-1-1 all around. Even though all I wanted to see were the reactions of the return of the guillotine, I could not stop my arm. In the midst of all the screaming and crying, I could hear the SIA coming down the hall yelling at students to move and into his walkie talkie to call for more staff to come and buckle me down. They got to the locker rooms as I stabbed my fifth victim. I didn’t know what to do next so I just stabbed myself in the neck and that is when they cornered me.
This is different from what I thought would happen I thought, as blood spilled out of my neck.
Half an hour later, I, in handcuffs, was in the back of an ambulance, being aided for my neck wound.
Why weren’t the other boys like screaming when I stabbed them? What the flippy-gibbet.
The only thought that kept playing in my brain. During the police car ride, I was just thinking I've never done this before. I used to be perfect. I guess I'm just tired of people assuming that I can be perfect and happy at the same time. And that is when I entered the Slate Canyon Detention Center in my (hideous) green collared shirt and khakis.
Goodness I’m a mess.
Well, I hope you enjoyed reading my piece. Peace out and for all you whitney students reading, hope you come out to Faculty Follies tomorrow at lunch.
I am the kind of person who has their own definition of organized. For some of you, the second semester has started and probably want to get good grades by the end of this new semester, so here are a few tips that have helped me so far.
Anyway, that's it for this post. I hope these tips help you out if you're trying to be more organized this year. Have a wonderful three-day weekend. Peace out!
Hey guys. So on Saturday, I went to the mall and I noticed a new store with a sign that said GRAND OPENING on it and naturally I was drawn in by the window display.
If you haven't heard of it, it is called LEA. Their clothes is so modern and it's super cheap. I couldn't believe it when I saw the price tags on the items that I grabbed. Literally, their items are as comfortable and adorable as Brandy for like a third of the price. Es una ganga. Here are some of the things that my sister and I brought.
The stuff on the left are the things that I got and the right are the ones that my sister got. All together, my shirt and wallet cost $5.99. my sister's shirt and hat cost $4.99 and her wallet (since it came with additional accessories) costs $7.50.
If you ever go to Los Cerritos Mall, definitely check this place out. It's definitely worth it.
There was also another little stand that I thought was adorable. I don't know what it's called but it was near Nordstrom and MAC. It's one of those individual stands in the middle of the walkway. Anyway, there was some beautiful jewelry that I so wanted to buy but didn't. I didn't take pictures of the jewelry but it's definitely another must-visit.
Anyway, that's it for this store review. If you liked it, give this post a thumbs up and I'll try to find more stores for y'all to visit. Alright, peace out!
