read if you want. I don't care.
Last week after a club meeting and ultimate frisbee game, I went to SOLID Coffee Roasters. When I went in, it was the perfect minimalistic coffeehouse ever. There were wooden tables, white walls, the typical chalkboard menu, and succulents at every table. I was greeted with a warm welcome and the barista helped me right away. I ordered a cappuccino and a toffle, which is a waffle made out of tater tots served with cheese, sour cream, bacon, and chives. My mom ordered an americano. We were going to take it to-go but the barista told us that it would take 15 minutes to make the toffle so we should just have the coffees for there. So we waited in the coffeehouse for the toffle with our drinks. When I got my cappuccino, I looked at it and was in awe. THEY DO FOAM ART. Here's what my cappuccino looked like.
The cappuccino was pretty bitter when I first drank it, so I added about half a bag of sugar and it tasted better. And even though they serve it as a hot drink, it wasn't as hot as other places are. It was more warm than hot, which in my opinion isn't bad. My mother, on the other hand, couldn't adjust her americano to her liking. At first, she didn't know americanos don't have milk in them; they're just straight coffee. So she went and asked for milk but it still didn't taste good to her, and so she added, I think, two and a half bags of sugar and then it was too sweet. She was just like screw this and fixed it up when we got home. After getting the toffle, we went home to enjoy it. Here is the toffle.
Omigoodness, it was so good. If you ever go to SOLID, get the toffle. Sure it cost $8.75 but it's so worth it. That's sour cream by the way, not butter.
Overall, I would rate SOLID a 3.5/5 on drinks and 5/5 on the toffle. Just the toffle because that's the only thing I tried. Thank you for reading this week's blog post. I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I'll be back next saturday with something for y'all to read. Peace out.

I just discovered a website that provides articles and tips on life, food, fun, and much more interesting topics. I found it while scrolling through my home page on Instagram. What caught my eye was that fact that they can make a casserole healthy with the substitution of cauliflower. It was a video of how to make cauliflower casserole and it looked really good so I went to @tiphero on Instagram and looked through their feed. All the pictures looked delicious and I want to the website. There I found a bunch of healthy and simple recipes that anyone can follow to make a delicious but healthy meal or snack. If you like to cook/bake/be in the kitchen, I would recommend this website if you are bored and hungry.
But there is more than just recipes. I found an article where they shared a video of such a loving Saint Bernard not letting go of his owner. The huge dog just kept hugging his owner like it was the end of the world and he just wanted to cuddle with his owner. It was so adorable. Anyway, if you want to check out their website, it is down below along with their social media.
Today, I woke up at 9 AM and my parents got mad at me. I thought it was crazy that they were not allowing me to wake up at 9. So there was a silence treatment going on for about 4 hours and we started talking again when it was time for lunch. During those 4 hours of silence between me and my parents, I read Les Misérables to my sister and watched all the episodes I missed during the school week. I've been watching shows like Shadowhunters, Pretty Little Liars, Baby Daddy, The Fosters, and Young & Hungry on Freeform. Anyway, after lunch, my family spent some quality time with each other in the backyard where my mom watered the plants, I was dancing and singing, and my dad and sister were fooling around like they always do. After we had some fresh coconut juice and then we went back inside, only to go back to our electronic devices. At 5:30, my mom came into my room and asked me if I wanted to go to Porto's Bakery and Cafe with her because there was a new location opening in Buena Park. Of course I said yes because I had been inside all day behind a computer screen and I needed to go outside again. So I took a shower and my mom told my dad and my sister that we were going to go and that they should come too.
So we went to go find Porto's in Buena Park. When we got there, we literally spent half an hour driving up and down Beach Blvd, looking for it. We turned onto streets that led to neighborhoods and into parking lots to see if Porto's was behind Medieval Times or Pirate's Dinner Adventure. We never found it because the map was always leading us to the same pile of dirt. In the end, we did not want to go home empty handed so we went to Knott's and got the dinner special from Knott's Chicken To-Go and a Cinnabon classic from Cinnabon. We got home and we devoured all of the chicken and cinnamon bun. I was stuffed. I went to my room, changed into my pajamas, and got back on the computer to finish my homework. Today may have begun terribly but in the end, it was a great family bonding day.
OMG so PCN was so amazing. They had so many amazing performances. They performed modern hip hop and cultural dances and the cast was amazing. It is a skit and throughout the story, the dances are performed and some of them are crazy. It was such a great experience. If you want, the second show is coming up in less than half an hour. It is $14 at the door but it is a must see event. The performers were amazing and it makes me want to go and be part of PCN next year with my friends. I took some pictures during the show and they are in the gallery. I hope you like them. There are some below as well.
So in about 15 minutes, I'm going to be attending the annual Philipino Cultural Night at Whitney High School's Multimedia Art Theatre. One of my friends are going to be performing and I can't wait to go watch. I believe it is amazing and I'm super excited to go see it. I'll have another post on how it was after the show. Hope to see you there! Tickets are $12 at the door and it starts at 2pm. Hope the best of luck to all the performers!
Hey hey hey everyone! There are three more events coming up and you all should go to it! (BTW all these events will be held at Whitney High School.)
Santa Monica was so beautiful today. Like in Los Angeles, I first went to Philz Coffee for a mint mojito iced coffee. If you haven't gone over to Philz Coffee yet, you should go over through and order a mint mojito iced coffee. I promise you it is the most amazing coffee I've ever had. Even if you're not a big coffee drinker, they still have great teas. Anyway after going to Philz Coffee, I went to the Santa Monica Pier and saw some seals playing in the ocean. I was going to ride some rides at the Pacific Park, but instead, my sister and I went to the beach and challenged each other to see how far we could go into the ocean without getting our clothes wet. I lost because I got my shorts wet. Oops. 😁
After that, my family and I went to dry off and headed toward the famous Third Street Promenade. When we got there, it was almost 6 PM so my sister and I got dinner from Sbarro in the food court. Since today is Monday and one of my resolutions was to have a vegetarian day every Monday, it was a bit more difficult to find something to eat. Finally, I decided on eating the baked ziti with a side of breadstick and caesar salad. After my sister and I ate, we went to go shopping. We went to H&M, Urban Outfitters, and Brandy Melville. First, my mom, sister, and I were just looking around at H&M and I found a leather jacket for my sister. She loved it but my dad would not let her get it, so we went to Urban Outfitters. I found a book for my friend but I did not buy it because my parents have already left the store. Then we went to Brandy Melville where my sister found another leather jacket and since she wanted it so badly, my parents bought it for her. As for me, my mom bought me some lens for my phone. By the time we ended shopping, it was around 7:30 so we headed home. When we got on the freeway, I was out like a light. Although I did not get to go everywhere I wanted to visit, I still had fun so if anyone wants to go visit Santa Monica, have fun with wherever you visit because Santa Monica is a great city of beachy vibes and adventure. You just have to look in the right places.
If you want, there are going to be some pictures I took in Santa Monica today in the gallery. Hope you liked reading this post.
Recently, I've been thinking about what life really meant. Everyone has to go through so much stress to become successful, so many dreams that try to become reality, and most of all, so many feelings that continue to remain unknown. Often, I question myself Why do I feel like this? or What is going on with me? Everyone has their happy feels and their depressing thoughts. The ones that shine to make everything evil go away or the ones that lurk in the shadows for no one to know or understand.
I was thinking Is everything I do in school important? like the classes that we are required to take. For example, why do we need to be in physical education because nobody does anything in that class anyway. The same for visual art classes. Those classes are not necessary. Along with that, we should only have to take english, math, science, and history classes. All the other classes should be taken as electives.
We are forced to take classes in order to graduate. Why? Why do we need these unnecessary classes? What do you think? Leave a comment on what you think.
Hey hey hey beautiful people. I hope you started your new week off strong, well with some strong coffee because Mondays are nobody's friend and we all need that boost of energy in the morning for the day back to school or work. So I was thinking about changing the picture up there every month because every month is different. Since February has just begun, there is Valentine's Day in a couple of weeks. And since Valentine's Day is coming up, I thought it was only appropriate to make it a heart of yarn. (get it cuz ball of yarn...never mind) That's it for now. Talk to you guys later.
