read if you want. I don't care.
So I know my last post had some people concerned, but I'm fine. Thank you for your concern.
This past week, it was Record Week at Whitney and if you don't go to Whitney, you must be wondering What's Record Week? Record Week is where the entire school has a class challenge every day of the week at lunch. This year's theme was Survival. Each day has two challenges and representatives from each class compete each other to see who will survive. On Monday, I competed in the Giant Jenga and unfortunately, I lost. The other challenge was Chubby Bunny. On Tuesday, we had the Planking and Flexibility Contest. On Wednesday, we had the Balloon Challenge (where you try to pop the balloons around the other people's ankles), Platform Challenge (see how many people from your class will fit on a platform), and the Selfie Challenge (fit as many people as you can into one selfie). On Thursday, we had the Cookie on a String (eat all three cookies off the string as fast as you can without using your hands) and the Jump Rope Contest.
Normally Record Week would have another pair of challenges on Friday too, but on Friday, we had Faculty Follies. Faculty Follies is an event where the faculty go sell tickets to students. They have a show and make fun of themselves. The ticket money is used to help the seniors with college coming up at the end of their high school careers. I went to that and it was honestly a staff edition of Whitney HS Live. There were life hacks, skits, and musical performances. It was hilarious.
Finally we come to what happened yesterday. Yesterday, I had to go to Career Day at school from 9 am to noon. There were so many interesting speakers this year. I went and listened to Steve Kosakura, a Walt Disney Imagineer; Addison Randall, a producer/director; and Judy Chen, a User Experience Researcher at Google. They talked about their jobs and what a day would be in their lives. After that, I went home and studied for the SAT that I am going to take on May 7. (Wish me luck) At 4 pm, my parents came back and I went to Cerritos 60th annual Spring Festival with my friends. I rode on some of the intense rides three or four times and then had my very first funnel cake. It was so good. OH and if you are planning to go today, be careful when you are riding Black Widow. Make sure your head doesn't fly back when you bounce down because it hurts like crazy. I hit my head a couple of times. But other than that, it was really fun. Hope you get the chance to go today because it is worth your time. Unfortunately, if you go today, you won't be able to see the fireworks.
Sorry for being so inactive lately. I just had a last minute MUN conference to pick up if I wanted an A in MUN yesterday. So where should I begin?
This week was the week after spring break and it was back to school for me. To add onto that, I had midterms this week. For once, I had a project or test/quiz in all of my academic classes. So on Monday, I had the regular school day but everyone else around me was studying for the midterms (comps (I don't know why it's called comps)) or working on completing a homework assignment. Then on Tuesday, I didn't have MUN after school so I went with my friends to work on our English project. We had to make a zine (short for magazine) with a theme from Les Miserables. For our zine, we choose homelessness, so we had to go out and find homeless people or symbols that represent homelessness. We headed out to take pictures and then went to the library to put it all together. After that, from Wednesday to Friday it was the same schedule with nothing to do for 6 hours after school because during comps, school ends at 12:30 pm. That was my week. Pretty boring. Sorry for the boring posts and hope you have a great upcoming week.
